Man, 22, in NSCDC net over alleged motorcycle theft

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command have arrested one Suleiman Murtala ‘m’ aged 22 of Madara village, Azare LGA, Bauchi State on a suspected case of motorcycle theft and trespass, contrary to section 286 and 342 punishable under section 287 and 348 respectively of the penal code law of Jigawa State.

CSC Adamu Shehu, CDPRO Jigawa State Command made this known in a statement

He said the suspect was arrested in Sundumina village, Birnin kudu LGA at about 1300hrs following a tip-off where he has taken the stolen motorcycle to be sold at the village weekly market operating on Wednesdays.

He noted upon his arrest, he confessed to have sneaked into the house of his neighbor, one Malam Muhammad of same address, and a friend to his father, stole his Boxer Motorcycle and took it to Sundumina with intent to sell. He also revealed to have stolen the motorcycle a week earlier where he kept it hidden until that day.

He added that the stolen motorcycle was valued at about N400.000.

He noted that the suspect confessed to the crime and charged to a Magistrate court in Birnin Kudu for prosecution.
