Kano NSCDC Boss Commissions Female Squad for Schools Security

The Kano State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Muhammed Lawal Falala on Thursday Commissioned 60 female squad of the command in line with the directives given by the Commander General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

Addressing the Squad after a drill exercise held at the command’s Headquarters, Commandant Falala said after comprehensive study was conducted nationwide, it was discovered that many schools were vulnerable and very porous in nature, which make them prone to attack by terrorists and bandits.

He also said the result of the research revealed that most school in the country do not have presence of security, either government 1or private security.

“It was also gathered that criminals use rape to intimidate victims of attack on schools.

“To this end, it is believed that female in general don’t take the issue of rape lightly, therefore, they are the group that no doubt will fight this menace squarely.” He maintained

He explained that “Going by what I am seeing before me at this moment, I firmly believe that in Kano Command a formidable and robust female squad has been formed.”

He implored the Squad to demonstrate high sense of professionalism in discharging duties toward ensuring the realisation of the intended goal of creating the squad, i.e. ensuring safe
learning environment in schools and general protection of lives and properties.

He urged female in Kano State to grab the opportunity provided to them by joining the Corps.

He called on the Commandant General of the Corps to deploy more female to the command in line with the teeming population of the state.

Justice Watch News gathered that during the Commissioning exercise, the Squad performed drills exercise follows: Commando Patrol, In-bus Demonstration and Strippling and Assembling of Rifle.
