The Kano State Command of the NSCDC has apprehended two suspects in connection with alleged armed robbery, theft, vandalisation of armored cables (45mm) and 3 driven unit batteries belonging to Kano Electricity Distribution Company ( KEDCO).

The arrest was made by Operatives of Anti Vandalism Unit of the command at the KEDCO’s distribution sub-station situated at Briscoe Independence road, Nassarawa LGA, Kano.
DSC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi Spokesperson, NSCDC Kano command made the disclosure in a statement issued, Friday.

He said the officers had swiftly responded to a midnight distressed call about happening at the station.
He identified the suspects as: Anas Shamsu ‘M’ 26yrs of Kumbotso local government and Nasiru Muhammad ‘M’ 25yrs of Tamburawa Yamma, Dawakin Kudu Local government area.
He maintained that the suspects are currently in custody of the Corps undergoing investigation in conclusion of which they will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile he added that operatives of civil defence are on the trails of 3 more suspects, one Abenja, Ghali and Abbati who are now at large.
DSC Ibrahim explained that “the unfortunate incident ( vandalisation of these armor cables and 3 driven unit batteries) has largely affected supply of electricity to many places in Kano leaving different communities in total black out.
“However with the recent arrest and eventual recovery of the items, that will no doubt bring succour there by restoring power supply to those areas.” He further stated
