Polytechnic Student, 2 others Arrested for Robbery in Dutse

One Ahmad Abubakar, 20, who claimed to be a level 100 Student of Social Works and Community Development Polytechnic, Dutse in Jigawa State has been arrested by Police in Jigawa together with two of his accomplices over the alleged Armed Robbery and Trespass.

The Acting Spokesman of the Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu disclosed this in a statement.

The statement revealed that on 3rd August,2021 at about 0800hrs one Shauwal Kaila of Zai Quarters Dutse LGA reported that on same date at about 0400hrs some unknown gang of criminals criminally trespassed into his house.

The statement stated that the suspects who covered their faces, armed with sticks and demanded from the complainant money and threaten to kill him.

” And then collected two of his handsets valued at N33,000 and took away the following items: a half bag of rice, one plasma tv and a red box containing woman wrappers.”

” Immediately on receipt of the report, detectives swung into action based on intelligence tip off and arrested one Ahmad Abubakar, 20, of Takur site Dutse, claimed to be a level 100 student of Social Works and Community Development, Jigawa State Polytechnic Dutse,”

The statement further stated that during interrogation the suspect mentioned the following persons: Sani Mustapha, 22, of Garu Quarters, Muhammmad Sani Muhammmad, 25, of Kasarau Yamma all in Dutse LGA as his accomplices. We successfully arrested them,”

The statement explained that the suspects further said that they conducted the operation together with Dan Fulani, Alhaji Zini and Black who are now at large.

The statement noted that the suspects have confessed to have been selling stolen properties to one Abdullahi Haruna, 28, of Kachako town, in Takai LGA, Kano State. Maryam and her son Bashir Ibrahim adding that the said Maryam sold the stolen rice to Rakiya Muhammad Mainoni adding that they were all arrested.

” Commissioner of Police Jigawa State Command ordered that the case should be be transfer to Dutse State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) for further investigation”.
