NSCDC Arrests 9 Suspected Burglars at Kano Polythene Company

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kumbotso divisional office, (NSCDC) have arrested nine (9) suspected burglars who had perfected nefarious plans to burgle and steal from a polythene products company situated at Challawa industrial area.

SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, Civil Defence Public Relations Officer (CDPRO) Kano command made this known at press briefing, Tuesday.

He said the suspects were arrested in a swift response to a distress call by the residents of Unguwar Fulani, Kumbotso LGA.

He pointed out that the suspects included; Abba Nasiru Adamu, 23yrs, Ibrahim Adamu, 22yrs, Hassan Sulaiman, 30yrs, Basiru Aliyu,25yrs, Hashimu Ibrahim, 49yrs.

Others are Umar Hudu Hassan,27yrs, Shamsu Haruna, 37yrs, Ibrahim Abubakar,39yrs as well as Mudassir Hassan Dahiru, 23 years of age.

He noted that the suspected criminals hail from Kurna, Dotsa and Brigade areas of kano state.

However, he said one Nasiru Haladu, the gang kingpin (prime suspect) is at large and a serious manhunt has been launched by the Corps to apprehend him, noting that the prime suspect is a staff of the polythene company.

“Ten in number, the suspects stormed the area in a Toyota Corolla E with registration number ABC396LX with a view to burgle and steal large collection of the company’s goods, conversely, luck ran out of them as with the assistance of the community, personnel of the Corps at around 1330hrs apprehended them.”

“The suspects have since confessed to the crime and upon completion of investigation by the Corps intelligence and investigation department they will all be charged to court”

SC Abdullahi, further recalled that the criminally minded elements have been tormenting the area with burglary, theft as well as vandalism of public assets something that is of great concern to the residents of Unguwar Fulani, Kumbotso local government area.

“The suspects vehicle earlier arranged to convey the stolen products has been burnt to ashes by the irate youth of the area.”
