NACTAL President Commends Police for Rescuing Trafficked Children, Recommends Referral to NAPTIP

The National President of the Network Against Child Trafficking Abuse and Labour, (NACTAL) Nigeria, Abdulganiyu Abubakar, has applauded the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for disrupting the activities and intentions of Traffickers, resulting in the rescue of five children in Abuja.

Recalls that the statement issued in Abuja by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, said the counter trafficking effort occurred on April 27, 2024 with the operatives of the FCT plolice command, at about 8:00 P.M.

However, in another statement Georgina by Atu-Umaru Technical Assistant NACTAL Nigeria, said the information went further to name the arrested two female suspects, as “Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah, in connection to the trafficking of five children.

She said Abdulganiyu gave thumbs up to the police for intercepting the suspects who attempted to escape arrest but were intercepted and arrested by FCT police operatives at Kagini junction, Abuja, while suspiciously conveying five (5) children into the Federal Capital Territory.

According to her, FCT Police Command further stated that the suspects and victims have been handed over to the Sokoto state police command for further investigation and onward prosecution.

The National President of NACTAL while commending this efforts recommended that the case be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons ( NAPTIP) for further necessary action and diligent prosecution.
