FRSC Kano Deploys 1,470 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Operations

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Command in Kano State has announced the deployment of 1,470 personnel for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir operations in the state.

In a statement issued by Ibrahim Sallau-Abdullahi, the State FRSC Sector Commander, outlined the comprehensive preparations for ensuring road safety during the festive period.

He said the deployment includes; five ambulances, 25 patrol vehicles, and a heavy-duty tow truck, alongside other essential operational equipment strategically positioned along major routes and highways.

He noted that the Eid-el-Fitr special patrol operations scheduled to commence from April 8th to April 13th 2024, with a primary focus on facilitating the free flow of traffic, ensuring the safety of lives and properties, and providing timely assistance to victims of road traffic accidents.

According to the Sector Commander the deployed personnel, 1,244 are regular Marshals, supported by 236 Special Marshals stationed on critical routes to oversee safe vehicular movement and enforce traffic regulations.

Additionally, he said, the station officers across the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State will actively participate in the operations.

“Unit Commands, Ambulance Service points, and roadside clinics, particularly along the Kano-Zaria road, will operate round the clock to enhance safety measures throughout the state.”

“Furthermore, mobile courts will be deployed to address traffic regulations infractions swiftly.”

The Sector Commander emphasized the importance of purposeful synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders to enhance effectiveness.

CC IS Abdullahi outlined the enforcement targets for this Eid-Fitr special patrol, which include excessive speeding, dangerous driving, lane indiscipline/route violation, road obstruction, use of phone while driving, overloading violation, seatbelt/child restraint use violations, failure to install speed limit devices, and other traffic violations.

The Sector Commander extended warm wishes for a joyful and accident-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration to the general public.
