The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Abaniwonda S. Olufemi, has addressed the media on the achievements of the Delta State Police Command since his assumption of office on February 1, 2024.

Acknowledging the challenges in securing Delta State, CP Abaniwonda assured the public of the Command’s commitment to effective policing while respecting the rights of citizens.
Among the notable achievements, the Command successfully arrested individuals involved in possession of live cartridges, armed robbery, cultism, and illicit drug dealing.
Various operations led to the recovery of weapons such as locally fabricated pistols and guns, along with a substantial amount of controlled substances.
CP Abaniwonda emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, strategic partnerships, and teamwork to ensure successful policing outcomes.

He urged residents to support the police in combating crime and promised continued crackdowns on black spots and illegal drug activities.
Additionally, the Commissioner announced the establishment of a Complaint Response Unit to enhance transparency and accountability within the Command.
