The Vice Chancellor, Baba-Ahmed University Professor Adamu Idris Tanko has called on stakeholders in the education sub-sector to re-double their efforts towards optimal achievement of set goals.
According to a statement by Abba Dauda Abba,
Chief Public Relations Officer, Baba-Ahmed University Kano on Friday, Professor Tanko also stressed the need to speed up policies in the education sector, to enable the system to keep pace with modernization.

Speaking on a live radio call-in program in Kano, the VC says there is a need for collaboration among academics to evolve modalities as well as set up goals to move Nigeria forward, especially the educationally disadvantaged northern part.
The Vice Chancellor further asserted that Baba Ahmed University was among the newly established institutions in the country to cater for the teeming population of youths who compete for limited admission quotas in Nigerian Universities.
He further explained that such admission quotas in the Nigerian university system cannot adequately accommodate the number of candidates seeking admission; hence the leftovers would eventually become a nuisance to the society.

Professor Adamu Idris Tanko affirmed that private universities like the Baba-Ahmed University Kano were licensed to bridge the gap and complement government’s efforts of providing access to quality tertiary education.
