2 in Police net over stolen of N1.1m Motor Vehicle in Jigawa

The Jigawa Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Idris Dahiru, 27, and his accomplice over the alleged stolen of Golf 3, motor vehicle valued N1.1 Million belonging to Buhari Musa, 38,

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam made the confirmation in a statement issued on Thursday.

He said On 14th Aug. 2023 at about 1700hrs, one Buhari Musa ‘m’ age 38yrs of Daushe village, reported at Ringim Police station, that, on 13th Aug. 2023 his motor vehicle Golf 3 Green in colour with the registration number LKJ 254 XA valued at one million one hundred thousand naira (₦1,100,000.00k) developed a mechanical fault and was parked at the frontage of one Abdurrashid Musa ‘m’ age 60yrs of Jigawar Kadage village with his consent.

Unfortunately, according to him, on the same date, about 0600hrs, he discovered that the said motor vehicle was carted away by an unknown person (s)

He maintained that “On receipt of the report, a team of Policemen swung into action and arrested one Idris Dahiru ‘m’ age 27yrs, and one Auawalu Adamu ‘m’ age 20yrs all of Ganjin Gebi village Ringim LGA.”

He added that “on investigation, the suspects confessed to having stolen the motor vehicle and had already sold it in Nasarawa State.” He further said.

The PPRO added “On 3rd Sept. 2023, detectives proceeded to Nassarawa State and recovered the stolen motor vehicle at Nassarawan Igom LGA.”

In addition, on 3rd sept. 2023 at about 1300hrs one Ahmad Bello ‘m’ age 45yrs of Hadejia LGA, a Technical Officer attached to the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) Ringim Branch Office, complained to Ringim Police Station that, on the same date he discovered that unknown persons were vandalized their service cables along Ringim/Gidan Garke axis.

He explained that on receipt of the information, the team of Policemen led by Divisional Police Officer Ringim swiftly swung into action and arrested one Haruna Haruna ‘m’ age 29yrs, Amadu Nasiru ‘m’ aged 33yrs all of Gujaba village Ringim LGA, in possession of the said aluminium wire.

He further explained that the suspects revealed that they stole the cables at the shop of one Dahiru Isah.

He pointed out that “Investigation led to the arrest of one Dahiru Isah ‘m’ age 28yrs of Tofa village Gezawa LGA Kano State.

“On interrogation, Dahiru Isah disclosed that he bought the same cables from one Kulu Danjummai of Gujaba village, who is now at large and kept it in his shop.”

Later on, he discovered that the cables were stolen by an unidentified persons.” he maintained

DSP Shiisu Adam further stated that in another development, on 30th Aug. 2023 at about 1900hrs, one Yawale Surajo ’m’ age 18yrs of Majiyawa village Ringim LGA, who is an Okada man reported at Ringim Police Station that, on 18th Aug. 2023 at about 1900hrs an unknown passenger boarded him from Ringim town to Gabarin village.

“While on their way to the village, the passenger attacked him where he sustained serious injury on his head and went away with his motorcycle without registration number.”

He continued that immediately after receiving the report, a team of policemen on patrol was detailed, “In the process Garba Abdulkarim ‘m’ age 18yrs of Sintulmawa village, and Abdulqadir Lawan ‘m’ age 20yrs of Gujaba village were arrested.”

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence, and the said motorcycle was recovered in their possession.

DSP Adam, subsequently disclosed, that on 28/8/2023, a team of policemen attached to Ringim Division while on investigation activities at Rijiyar Lemo quarters, Kano state, sighted one Bashir Ibrahim ‘m’ age 24yrs of Kanya Babba Babura LGA, Idi Shamsu ‘m’ age 22yrs of Ganji Kyebi village Ringim LGA and Masa’ud Abdussalam ‘m’ age 20yrs of Gabasawa LGA, Kano state in possession of a Boxer motorcycle without registration number strongly suspected to be stolen.

He further disclosed that when questioned, they could not give a satisfactory account of the said motorcycle, hence they were arrested.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to having stolen the motorcycle in Kanya Babba village of Babura LGA belonging to one Hafizu Isah ‘m’ of Kanya Babba village.

He revealed that all the suspects will be charged before the court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation at  State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Dutse.
