Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Jigawa Command has said that a Toyota Bus, grey colour with registration number MGM435XA conveying passengers to Maiduguri, Borno State was involved in an accident along Kiyawa -Jahun Road leaving two passengers dead, a male and female.

CSC Adamu Shehu Command’s Public Relations Officer, made this known in a statement issued, Friday.
He said the incident on Thursday, 6th day of October, 2022 at about 0600hrs, the accident occurred around Katika village when the driver lost control of the vehicle as a result of overspeeding thereby colliding with a tree by the roadside.

He also said the accident victims were immediately evacuated and rushed to a Primary Health Care Center in Kiyawa LGA.
“Sadly, two were certified dead while others including the Bus driver sustained various degrees of injuries and referred to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Azare, in Bauchi State.
He identified the names of the deceased as Muhd Atiku ‘M’ aged 27 and Cecilia Peter ‘F’ Aged 21.

“Saddened by the incident, the command enjoined motoring public to always drive with caution, avoid overspeeding and other road traffic violations.”
