Shops, Shades: Court Restrains KSIP, KNUPDA From Demolishing

Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji has ordered an interim injunction restraining Kano State Investment Properties (KSIP) Limited and Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) from encroaching, taking over and
demolishing all spaces for shops/shades belonging to the Applicants located at KSIP site Bompai Industrial Area, Kano State, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Justice Ma’aji gave the order upon an Exparte application by counsel to the Applicants Barrister Abba Hikima, together with 25 paragraphs affidavit in support, duly sworn to by one Isa Gambo (8th Applicant).

The Order reads: Order of Interim Injunction is hereby granted restraining all the Defendants/ Respondents either by themselves, their agents, assignees or privies howsoever from encroaching upon or taking over and demolishing all that spaces for shops/shades belonging to the Plaintffs/Applicants allotted by the 2 Defendant/Respondent and located at Kano State Investment and Properties (K.S.l.P.) site Bompai Industrial Area, Kano, pending the hearing and determination of the Interlocutory application before this Honorable Court.”

“That the parties are hereby ordered to Maintain Status Quo Ante Bellum, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.”

He consquently adjourned the case to 26th October,2022 for hearing of the Motion on Notice.

Justice Watch News gathered that 188 Applicants in the suit include: Isa Muhd Sani, Labaran Ya’u, Aliyu Bashir Imam, Alh Ibrahim Ahmad, Tasiu Suleiman Muntari Mai lilo,
Abdulhadi Umar, Isa Gambo among others.
