The Adamawa State Police Command has announced a traffic diversion around Police flyover Yola, the State capital, ahead of the yearly cross over night to hold on Sunday 31st December, 2023 into the early hours of Monday 1st January, 2024.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje in a statement issued on Wednesday said those coming from Yola International Airport to Yola Town to divert from Fire service Roundabout through Bekaji and Federal Secretariat, while those going to Numan Road from Dougirei to follow Ribadu square through to target junction Upward to Fire service Roundabout.
He said the night of entertainment and waiting will take place at the Great interchange flyover by the Police Headquarters.
He maintained that “To ensure effective policing within the period, the Command wishes to inform Members of the Public that there will be Adequate security deployment around the City and emplacement of traffic diversions at strategic places around the event ground which includes all Sister Security Agencies.”
He added that “The Command is also advising the public to keep their vehicles away from the Event Area and not to panic when they see Heavy police visibility as would be witnessed at the various traffic control points to aid the free flow of traffic, stop and search, and vehicular and foot patrol among many others.”

According to him, “The Command is equally appealing to the public to cooperate with security agencies while pledging its commitment to the sustainable peace of the State.” SP Nguroje added.
