Adamawa Police Foil Kidnapping Plot, Recover Weapons, Arrest Suspects

The Adamawa State Police command has said that its Operatives have once again demonstrated unwavering commitment to combating crime as they successfully averted a kidnapping operation, leading to the recovery of weapons and the escape of the suspects.

During a Confidence Building Patrol along Yola-Yadim Road, operatives from Yolde Pate Divisional Police Headquarters intercepted a vehicle with registration number GME 235 AE.

The driver, upon realizing the security check, attempted to escape recklessly but was pursued and cornered, leaving no chance for escape.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje Adamawa Police Command Spokesperson who disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, however said the three occupants of the vehicle immediately abandoned it and fled.

He also said a search of the recovered vehicle resulted in the discovery of two daggers, a chain, a padlock, and several charms believed to be used in carrying out kidnapping activities.

The PPRO noted that CP Afolabi Babatola, the Commissioner of Police, assured the public that criminals with such intentions will not escape arrest and will not be allowed to carry out their nefarious activities within the state.

He urged members of the public to provide timely information to the police, particularly regarding individuals who are on the run.

“The Adamawa State Police Command continues to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the residents of the state.” He further said.
