The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, has Decorated Kayode Egbetokun as the new Acting Inspector General of Police.
Shettima did this during a brief ceremony in his office at the Presidential Palace in Abuja on Tuesday.

In his previous positions, the new Acting Inspector General of Police previously held the position of Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.
Other officials who attended the meeting were Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma; Chief of Staff of the Presidential Palace, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; and the outgoing Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba.

The new Inspector General replaces Usman Alkali Baba, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari as the Inspector General of Police in 2021.
