Kano Government to clerics: be cautious in your preachings

The Kano State Government has cautioned clerics to conduct the preaching acccording to the dictate of the religion not on personal opinion or interest.

State commissioner for Religious Affairs Dr. Muhammmad Tahar ( Baba Impossible) made the assertion at a press briefing held in his office.

He said the press briefing was organized to state the Kano State Government position on Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa’s comment on women which was recently posted on social media.

Dr. Tahar lamented that the cleric’s comment has ignited an uproar from different sections of public.

He faulted Daurawa’s manner for not backing his position with either Hadith or Qur’an.

Dr Baba Impossible further lamented that the cleric used vulgar language and attack on women calling on other preachers on behalf of Kano State Government to prioritize their activities in promoting Islam and peace rather than engaging on issues that will incite the public.

He, on the other hand expressed his dismay with one woman who appeared on social media challenging Aminu Daurawa’s comment.

” It is highly unbecoming for a Muslim woman potraying herself in such magnitude of irresponsibility.

” Islam has provided means and channels of addressing issues appropriately,

“Religious leaders are Representatives of Allah on Earth.”

Acccording to the Commissioner, investigation revealed that some people are planning to attack the woman for challenging the cleric.

He warned Kano citizens against taken law into their own hands emphasizing that security agencies are monitoring all postings related to the incident.
