Two Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Sexual Assault of Minors in Jigawa

The Jigawa State High Court sitting at Birnin Kudu has handed down life imprisonment sentences to two individuals for separate sexual offenses against minors.

The first convict, Isah Manga, a 45-year-old resident of Kiyako Town in Birnin Kudu LGA, was found guilty of luring two underage girls into an unfinished building nearby his house, where he forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with them on multiple occasions.

Similarly, the court sentenced 25-year-old Israfilu Sagiru of Zarena Village in Birnin Kudu LGA to life imprisonment for the offense of sodomy (rape) committed against two underage boys in his room.

Presiding Judge, Justice Musa Ubale, emphasized that these rulings were intended to serve as a deterrent to others.

The sentences were handed down in accordance with the provisions outlined in Section 3 (2) and (4) of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law (VAPP LAW) No. 2 of 2021 in Jigawa state.
