The Police Command in Jigawa has presented N41 million cheques to the next of kin of 22 personnel who died in active service in the state.
The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Ahmadu Abdullahi, made the figure known while presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries in Dutse on Thursday.

Abdullahi said the cheques, presented under the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Family Welfare, Group Life Assurance scheme, is geared towards improving the living standard of family members of deceased officers.

“Today, on behalf of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun as part of his commitment to cater for the welfare of all officers and men of force, including the deceased families, who also in his magnimity directed me to issue these checks amounting to N41,527,360.37k to 22 next of kin of our fallen heroes, that this will change some part of your life and you will make judicious use it,” Abdullahi said.

Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, Mr John Jimre, praised and appreciated the magnanimity of the IGP and prayed for God to continue to guide and give him the wisdom to lead the force to greater to the next level.
