Kano Court Sets Sentencing Date for Convicted Robbery Offender

A Kano State Senior Magistrate Court presided over by Ibrahim Mansur Yola on Tuesday, fixed Jan. 31 for sentence of one Femi Abdullahi who was found guilty for the offence of Robbery.

The Convict, Abdullahi, 21 according to the First Information Report by police Prosecutor ASP D Umar Abdullahi, Femi Abdullahi on 31st December, 2023 conspired with three of his accomplices who are now at large and forcefully attacked one Joseph Simon, while he was walking along Aba Road in Sabon Gari Area in Kano.

He further said the convict threaten to kill the complainant and robbed him his handset, Infinix Hot, valued N51,000.

ASP Abdullahi further told the court that the convicts after they committed the robbery. They further forced him to pay them the sum of N50,000 on the pretence that they will give him his phone.

He noted that they refused to give him the phone after collecting the money.

He added that the offence, contravened sections 97 and 298 (C) of the Penal Code law of Kano State.

He pleaded guilty to charges and urged the court to temper justice with mercy.

Senior Magistrate Yola fixed 31st January, 2024 for sentence.
