Elections: we’re ready for credible polls – Kano REC

The Kano Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independant National Electoral Commission, Ambassador Abdul Zango has assured that the commission is fully prepared to conduct free, fair and credible elections in the state.

The REC made the assurance while addressing Election Observers on level of the Commission’s preparedness ahead of the poll scheduled to commence on Saturday.

He said the INEC has good community relations in the state, advising them to conduct their observation in line with provisions of the Electoral Act.

He noted that the commission is at the last stage of the preparation, stressing that all sensitive and non sensitive materials were already on ground for the election.

‘We’ve trained technical officers that will administer the BVAS Machine during Elections.

“We’ve equally trained people who collect and declare the results,” the REC further said.

According to him the International Observers that will monitor the election exercise include: European Union (EU) and their segments, that comprises of NIPPS, kuru, Jos Plateau, Ecowas and other Domestic Observers.

In his remark, the head of Election Observers from ECOWAS, Dr. Sani Adam said the Commission is interested to ensure that every country withing the its members conducted free, fair and credible elections.

“We’re much desire to see each country under ECOWAS conduct impartial election.” Dr. Adam stated.

He pointed out that ECOWAS places much emphasis on the level of preparations of Electoral Umpire, Security Agencies.
