BREAKING: Danbilki Kwamanda remanded over Kano Emirate Saga

Abdulmajid Danbilki Kwamanda Remanded by Kano Senior Magistrate Court for Alleged Accusations against Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso regarding Kano Emirate issue.

The defendant stands accused of disturbing public peace during a radio program in Kano.

It is alleged that he encouraged the public to revolt against the Kano State Government if they intended to revisit the issue of splitting the Kano Emirate.

According to the prosecution counsel, Barrister Abdussalam Saleh Danmaidaki, these actions contravene Section 114 of the Kano State Penal Code Law.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In response, the defense counsel, Barrister Ibrahim Abdullahi Chedi, requested that the court grant the defendant bail, assuring that he would not flee.

Chedi also informed the court that the defendant is suffering from an ailment, appealing for the court to exercise its desecration in favour of his client.

The defense counsel based his application on the provisions of Sections 35 (5) and 36 of the constitution, as well as the relevant provisions of the ACJL 2019.

However, the prosecution counsel, Barrister Saleh, opposed the bail application.

The presiding magistrate scheduled the ruling on the bail application for the 29th of January.
