Renewed Hope Agenda: FG Committed to enhancing Correctional Centres – Ministry

The Federal government has expressed its commitment to enhancing Nigerian Correctional Centres as part of its renewed Hope Agenda, The Federal government has expressed its commitment to enhancing Nigerian Correctional Centres as part of its renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to provide relief to inmates nationwide.

The Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the assertion in an interview with journalists shortly after inspecting a remarkable 3,000-capacity ultra-modern Custodial Centre in Janguza, Kano State.

The Minister who said was in Kano for a tour to inspect the Facility expressed delight over the world class facilities provided in the center which include: Sections for Medium and Maximum Custody, Reformation and Rehabilitation Programs, Worship Centers, Indoor and Outdoor Games, 50-Bed Hospital, Vocational Training Centre, Court Rooms and Judges’ Chambers.

He maintained that the initiative reflected the government’s commitment to improving administration of justice sector and addressing overcrowding in Nigeria’s correctional system.

He further maintained that the federeal Government under its renewed hope agenda would become a better place where Nigerians will be transformed in national interest.

“The work is in progress our dream and that of Mr President is quite high for the Correctional Centre that was built on the principle of the transformation, reintegration and rehabilitation.

“We upgrade the system in line with the renewed hope agenda of Tinubu’s administration. The lesson learnt from here would be incorporated into a relocation program of government toward redefining a Correctional system in Nigeria.:

He revealed that the hope of President is creating Correctional Service that is reformative, transformation in nature, Correctional Centre were people come, learn and becomes better human being where the life of people will be transformed in national interest.

He pointed out that it is the hope of Tinubu’s administration to give Nigerians where ever they are either in Nigeria or in diaspora a sweet exprience to show renewed hope agenda and bring succour to Nigerians including inmates who would not be an exception to the President’s renewed Hope Agenda
