Police Officer Injured in Political Clash in Kogi

In response to a viral video displaying a police officer covered in blood during a political clash in Idah, the Commissioner of Police Kogi State Command CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

SP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi Command made this known in a statement issued, Thursday.

He said the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department has been assigned to lead the investigation.

The PPRO however said expressing strong condemnation for the occurrence, CP Onuoha reiterated the commitment of the Kogi State Police Command to work closely with key stakeholders in ensuring the security of the electoral process.

“Regardless of political party affiliations, the Command aims to create a fair and secure environment for campaign activities, rallies, and processions.”

The Commissioner of Police issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers seeking to disrupt the electoral process and undermine its credibility.

According to him, any individual caught engaging in such acts of violence will face decisive action from the police, who are working in collaboration with other security agencies specialized in election security management.
