Kano NUJ establishes credentials committee for state executive elections

The Kano Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) has established a credentials screening committee to organize the upcoming election for the new State Executives.

In a Communique issued at the end of the Council’s Emergency Congress, jointly signed by Chairman Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, Secretary Comrade Abba Murtala, and Communique Drafting Committee Chair Abdullahi Yusuf, it was stated that the Five-Member Committee will be led by Comrade Adamu Abubakar Gammo from the Radio Kano Chapel.

According to the Communique, other Members include; Maikudi Muhammad Marafa from Information Chapel, Secretary, Rabiu Aboki Anas from Abubakar Rimi Television, (ARTV), Ramatu Garba, News Agency of Nigeria NAN and Talatu Isma’il from  Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM Chapel as Members.

As the raining season approaches, the congress advised people of the state to make sure they clear drainages so as to avert flooding in line with the information provided by NIMET.

“The congress advises both federal and state government to make fertilizer and other agricultural inputs available to farmers in the state in order to boost agricultural production and food security.”

The august body called on both the state and federal governments to look into the issue of climate change and encourage citizens to plant more trees during the raining season and discourage indiscriminate felling of trees.

It called on the Government to look into the issue of inadequate water supply in the state with a view to addressing it and also make available to the populace.
