Four Women and a child have died again, when their canoe boarded from Nguru Yobe State to Adiyani village in Guri LGA, Jigawa, capsized.
Dsp Lawan Shiisu Adam disclosed this in a statement, said unfortunately, the canoe capsized when the Victims close to reach their destination.

He stated that the driver was managed and escaped alive, while the passengers were drowned.
“On 6th September, 2022 at about 1800hrs, information at our disposal revealed that, on the same date at about 1630hrs, four (4) women and a child boarded a canoe from Nguru Yobe State to Adiyani village in Guri LGA of Jigawa State.”
“Local divers immediately entered into the river for their rescue,” he also said.
He pointed out that Three corpses were recovered on the spot.
The victims according to him include, Oneyaniwura Kasagama ‘f’ age 50yrs, Lafiya Mallam Bulama ‘f’ age 40yrs and one Mai Madu Mallam Bulama ‘m’ age 7months.

Corpses were taken to Adiyani Primary Health Care (PHC) and we’re certified dead by Health Personnel
DSP Adam said later, the remaining two corpses were recovered, their identities are:
One Badejaka Kasagama ‘f’ age 40yrs, and one Gimto Kasagama ‘f’ age 40yrs all of Adiyani village.
He added that the case is under investigation.
