The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command has deployed 1125 personnel to provide security of lives and property before, during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

According to statement by CSC Adamu Shehu, CDPRO, Jigawa Command, the State Commandant, Musa Alhaji Malah (CC), through the Deputy Commandant Operations, DCC Kabiru Baffa ordered the immediate deployment of officers and men from various specialised Departments and Units including Armed Squad, Counter Terrorism, CBRNE, Intelligence, Agro Rangers, Disaster Management and Medical Units across the 27 Local Government Areas in the State.

He also charged Area Commanders, Divisional officers as well as Component Commanders to ensure strict adherence to the rules of engagement.
Special emphasis was made on strategic areas such as Eid grounds, recreational centres, Government buildings and installations, motor parks, markets and malls as well as some identified flash points.

This is in line with the Commandant General’s directive to provide 24hr surveillance on critical national assets and infrastructure as well as general protection and security of the civilian populace across the country.
The Commandant advised residents to be law abiding and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in order to record a hitch free celebration.
He also encouraged them to report any suspicious activity to the nearest security formation.
He further warned that any person or group of persons found fomenting trouble will be dealt with in accordance with the rule of law.
