The long-awaited Lincoln University Kumo is on the verge of commencing academic activities following a high-level advocacy visit by the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, to the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Dr. Jatau highlighted the proactive measures taken by the Gombe State Government to ensure the university’s smooth takeoff, in line with international best practices.

He disclosed that the government had already provided adequate land and infrastructure, including a Senate building, lecture halls, and laboratories.

He further stated that Lincoln University Kumo would address the challenge of brilliant students from Gombe State who score high in JAMB but are unable to secure admission into existing universities.

Additionally, the institution is set to benefit from the newly established Federal Medical Centre (FM) which will serve as its teaching hospital for medical students, thereby enhancing healthcare education in the state.
