A group of around ten unidentified armed hoodlums, wielding cutlasses, clubs, and gun launched an attack on the home of Lawan Kabiru, the village head of Zamfarawa, who is 60 years old.
The incident took place on Tuesday at Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, resulting in a severe head injury and the amputation of a finger on his left hand.

According to an anonymous source, the suspected armed individuals had targeted the village head to steal a sum of N600 from a total payment of N1 million, which was proceeds from the sale of a farmland.
The source mentioned that the perpetrators arrived at the village head’s residence around 1:30 am, shortly after he had entrusted the money to his brother, Mudansir Lawal, for safekeeping at 8:30 pm.

During the unfortunate event, the suspects forcefully took the money from Mudansir and shot him in the hand before fleeing to an unknown location.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, confirmed the incident.
In his statement, he said, “Yes, I have been reliably informed of the incident by our staff in Rogo Division.”

He further confirmed that the injured village head and four other individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at hospital.
SC Ibrahim, however, stated that none of the assailants have been arrested yet, emphasizing that security agencies are actively pursuing them.

He disclosed that Zamfarawa Village is peaceful and residents are going about their activities as usual.
