The Commander General, Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) Navy Captain Umar Bakori (Retired) has said that there is the compelling need for the Federal Government to bring members of the Vigilante together in the fight against the disturbing spate of insecurity bedeviling the nation.
The Commander General Bakori stated this to Journalists in Kano when he paid an inspection visit on the new Secretariat building at Ladanai Quarters in Nassarawa LGA of the State which is being sponsored by a Philanthropist to compliment the effort of the Group in the fight against insecurity
He lamented that Members of the Vigilante Group undergoes training in crime prevention, Traffick Control, Alternative Dispute Resolution among others.
The Commander General maintained that Security Agencies alone will not 100 percent succeed in fight against crime and criminalities in Nigeria until public provide intelligence to security.
He called on Northern Governors to be united and have a single voice on security situation in the region.
He emphasized that securing Northern part of the country requires collaboration from the key relevant stakeholders.
Captain Umar Bakori urged Members of the Vigilante in Kano to be sincere and fear God in their discharge.
” With little resources you can succeed if you are sincere and you cannot grow higher with dubious mind”.
