NDLEA Arrests Suspect with Locally Made Pistol on Akwanga-Lafia Road

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nasarawa State command says it has arrested a suspect identified as Ifeanyi Eze Chukwu, aged 27.

The arrest took place during a patrol along the Akwanga-Lafia road on January 7, 2024.

Led by Mohammed Sulaiman, ASN II, the NDLEA team successfully apprehended Chukwu, who was found in possession of a locally made pistol.

This discovery highlighted the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to tackle illicit arms trafficking and maintain security in the region.

CSN David Yamsak Milaham, the Principal Staff Officer for Media and Advocacy/Training at the Nasarawa State Command, confirmed the arrest and seizure.

He said the incident served as a reminder of the commitment of NDLEA and its dedicated personnel in combatting criminal activities and ensuring the safety of citizens.

He added that Authorities will now proceed with the necessary legal actions against the suspect, as investigations continue into the origin and purpose of the communities from the threat of drugs and other illicit activities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order in the region.
