Kano State High Court, Appeal Division, will on Monday 26th July, 2021 mention the Appeal filed by the Appellant, Mati Abdu who is challenging the judgement of upper shari,a court, kofar kudu which sentenced him to death by stoning.

Justice Watch News gathered that the Appellant, Mati Abdu a resident of Farsa village in Tsanyawa LGA, Kano State, was found guilty for the offence of rape and gross indecency against 12 year old girl ( name withheld).
The offences were contrary to section 127 and 187 of the Kano State Shari,a Penal Code respectively Law 2000.

The Judge Ibrahim Sarki Yola sentenced the Appellant to death by stoning on the 12th August, 2020 after he admitted committing the 2 count charge .
The Appellant dissatisfied with the judgement of lower court and approached the High Court and seeking for justice through his counsel, Barr Bashir Dauda Utai
