The Federal High Court sitting in Kano has fixed 28th December, 2022 to deliver its judgement in a case filed Jafar Sani Bello seeking to declare that Muhammad Sani Abacha is not eligible to contest for the Gubernatorial election under Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Justice Watch News recalls that, Justice AM Liman on Thursday declared Alhaji Muhammad Abacha as legitimate gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ordered Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to substitute the name of Sadik Wali with that Abacha.
Jafar Sani Bello approached the court challenging the eligibility of Abacha to contest in the primary election, held on 25th May, 2023 on alleged grounds that he didn’t followed right channel while registering with the party and that in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian constitution, Electoral Act and PDP constitution.

Jafar Sani Bello is seeking the court to return him Gubernatorial Candidate of the party alleging that Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha is not eligible to contest in the primary election of the party, conducted at Lugard road on 25th May, 2022.
In his response, through his counsel, Abacha denied all the allegations by Sani Bello maintaining that he certified to join the party by both the National and State leaders of the party.

He urged the court to dismiss all the reliefs prayed by Jafar Sani Bello.
