Partners in Progress: Kano NUJ, Police Strengthen Ties for Safer Communities

The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ)Kano State Council Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi has reiterated the commitment of the Union to continue collaborating effectively with the Police for more positive working relationship.

The Chairman, represented by his Vice, Comrade Mustapha Gambo Muhd made the assertion when he led the executive members of the Union for a courtesy call to Commissioner of Police held at the command headquarters Bompai Kano.

He expressed optimism that the relationship between Police and Journalists will further strengthen over time.

Comrade Dederi stressed the importance of training to educate and inform the public, as he believes that it will motivate the Union to deliver its services more efficiently.

He explained that the purpose of the visit was to solidify and improve the cordial relationship with the police, seeking their support for security during the National NUJ Congress.

He further urged the CP to involve the Council in its Joint Security Awareness programs to enhance

Responding Commissioner of Police CP Salman Dogo Garba reiterated that his door is always open to journalists, underscoring the close and cooperative partnership between the police and journalists.

He described their relationship as harmonious and evolving, viewing each other as allies in the dissemination of information.

The CP assured that the police would provide all necessary support to the Union.

Overall, the statements made by both the Vice Chairman of NUJ and CP Salman Dogo Garba reflect a commitment to collaboration, partnership, and mutual support between the police and journalists for the betterment of the community and effective dissemination of information
