Court Orders Service of Charges on Ganduje, Others via National Dailies

The Kano State High Court has granted an exparte application allowing charge of alleged financial misappropriation to serve on National Chairman of the APC and former Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family and others through two widely circulated national dailies.

The order was granted by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu following an ex parte application made by Barrister Zaharaddeen Hamisu Kofar Mata.

Despite objections raised by the counsel to the 6th Defendant, Lamash Safari Textiles Ltd,  Nuraini Jimoh SAN in court, the judge ruled in favor of the prosecution.

Earlier, Barrister Adamu Ya’u appeared in court on behalf of the prosecution. However, counsel to the 6th Defendant, Lamash Safari Textiles Ltd, Nuraini Jimoh, SAN challenged his appearance and argued that there was a specific fiat given to Adeola Adedife (SAN) that could not be shared with any other lawyer.

In his response, regarding the fiat, Barrister Adamu mentioned that he had also been given a fiat by the Attorney General, stating that he  was not with the Fiat at the present time.

In her ruling, regarding the appearance, Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu adjourned the case to July 11, 2024, and ordered the involved counsel to address the court on the matter of the fiat.

The Defendants in the case include; Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Hafsat Umar Ganduje, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.

Ganduje, his wife and other co-defendants are being accused by Kano State Government for alleged financial misappropriation and corruption during his tenure as Governor of Kano State.
