One Najib Shehu, 25, who allegedly killed his step mother, Asiya Mohammed, 60, and broken the leg of his biological father following misunderstanding has been arrested by Nigeria Police, Katsina Command.

In a statement issued by Katsina Command’s Spokesperson SP Gambo Isah, Thursday said on 18th August, 2022 at about 1600hrs, one Najib Shehu, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Ambassador Quarters, Katsina, had a misunderstanding with his step-mother, Asiya Mohammed, ‘F’, aged 60yrs of the same address.
The PPRO further said the suspect went into the kitchen, grabbed a pestle, hit the step-mother severally with it on her head and as a result of which she sustained head injuries and was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
He also said in the spur of the moment, suspect also hit his father severally with the said pestle on his leg and sustained fracture into different places on his leg.
“Suspect has been arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence.The said pestle has been recovered as exhibit. Investigation is ongoing.”
