The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has assumed duty as newly appointed Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

In a statement by Aminu Bello Sani, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Gwarzo solicited the support of all and sundry to move the local government service to a greater height.


The Commissioner, who was accompanied by hundreds of well wishers, family and associates, said improving local government service will translate to a better life for the people at the grassroots.
The Commissioner, pledged to operate an open-door policy, that will accommodate positive thinking and innovation.

Ministry for local government is the supervising, coordinating, and monitoring the activities of the 44 local government councils in the State.
Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Thanked Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing him as Commissioner to the Ministry, while extending collaborative hands to achieve the desired goals.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussain, expressed delight to have the deputy governor as a Commissioner to the ministry and promised to give him the required support and cooperation to uplift the ministry forward.
