Nigerian security forces are among the best in the world. Our agencies possess the intelligence, technical know-how, and skills necessary to effectively address security challenges. While they are equipped to differentiate right from wrong, the prevalence of impunity, influenced by some unpatriotic politicians, undermines their efficacy.

On, March 27, 2025, the good people of Kano received an uplifting news, whereby Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, withdrawn his plans for the 2025 Eid El-Kabir Durbar in Kano. This illustrates the proactive measures taken by our security agencies. In the face of current challenges, I remain optimistic that now is the time to resist all pressures and focus on maintaining law and order while protecting the lives and property of Nigerian citizens.

I have come across with a letter dated March 1, 2025 (1st Ramadan 1446 AH), addressed to the DSS, Police, and NSCDC, indicating Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero’s intent to conduct the 2025 Eid El-Fitr Durbar/Hawan Karamar Sallah. I believed this letter is illegal and poses a risk of unrest that could disrupt law and order in Kano State. Those responsible should be arrested, investigated, and potentially prosecuted, especially since they knew that the Executive Governor of Kano and the Commissioner of Police had already approved His Highness Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II to conduct the 2025 Sallah Durbar.

Nevertheless, the security forces managed the situation effectively, and I commend their efforts. While I often voice criticism, I feel it is important to acknowledge and appreciate their commendable work and call the general public to appreciate and commend the efforts.

I also want to extend a warm welcome to the new Commissioner of Police to Kano State. With this proactive approach, I am confident he will succeed in his service to the community.

Alhamdulillah, Kano is secured again.
