Kano Govt. Demonstrates Commitment to Legal Excellence – Dederi

The Kano State Government says it has made a has made significant investments in the professional development of its State Legal Counsel by sponsoring 115 Counsel to attend the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference, further demonstrating its dedication to its growth.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Haruna Isa Dederi, disclosed this while addressing pressmen at EKo Hotel Ikoyi Lagos.

Barrister Dederi stated that the administration of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf focuses on building a robust legal system, and aims to position Kano State as a leader in legal services, driving excellence and innovation in the justice sector.

The Commissioner highlighted that the state government has graciously provided state counsel with Robe and medical fitness allowances, conference and practising fees, to enhance their well-being and productivity.

Dederi emphasized that the prestigious Nigerian Bar Association Annual Conference is a gathering designed to promote legal excellence, facilitate networking, and address pressing legal and social issues affecting Nigeria and Nigerians.

He added that the conference seeks to enhance continuing legal education, foster dialogue between the bar, bench, and stakeholders, and showcase developments in legal practice. It also aims to encourage mentorship, celebrate outstanding contributions, and provide a platform for discussions on justice, human rights, and the rule of law.

The Attorney General, Bar Haruna Isa Dederi, charged the state legal counsels and other practising lawyers operating in Kano State to be good ambassadors of the state and utilize the NBA Conference sessions to enrich their experience, expand their knowledge, and leverage networking opportunities for the benefit of the state’s justice sector.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Law Officers Association of Nigeria, Kano State chapter Abdullahi Aminu Shamsu, Esq. expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the Kano State Government for generously sponsoring all our members to attend the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference in Lagos State.
