Group Condemns Alleged Killings in Kano

The War Against Injustice, a Non Governmental Organizations on Sunday condemned the alleged killings of peaceful protesters in Kano State, specifically at Abuja Yan Dusa, Kurna/Rijiyar Lemo, Sharada, and other parts of the state.

Comr. Umar Ibrahim Umar Executive Director, War Against Injustice made the condemnation in a statement.

The Executive Director said, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives and the use of force against citizens exercising their fundamental and democratic rights.

He added, “The reports of violence and repression by security forces against peaceful gatherings are unacceptable.”

He pointed out that, “We urge the Nigeria Police and other relevant stakeholders to immediately investigate these allegations and take necessary action against the perpetrators. It is essential to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.”

He added, “We call on stakeholders to join us in seeking justice for the victims and their families. We demand accountability for the lives lost and injuries sustained during the protests.”

He stressed that the use of force against peaceful protesters is a violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, noting that, “We will continue to advocate for the protection of these rights and demand that those responsible for these atrocities are brought to justice.”

The Group extended its condolences to the families of the victims and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
