Governor Yusuf Urges Nigeria Police to Prioritize Kano in Recruitment Process

The Kano State Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on the Nigeria Police to accord kano special consideration inview of its numerical advantage during recruitment.

Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf made the call while overseeing the conduct of screening exercise of over thirty thousand youths of state indigine who applied to join Nigeria Police held at Police Officers Mess Bompai.

Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties Hajiya Amina Abdullahi (HOD)
maintained that the thirty four thousands youths that sought for the engagement could have all been enlisted if not due to the quota system that stipulates equal percentage for all state regardless of their size.

He explained that doing so without hesitation will by no means help in reducing the rate of restiveness and joblessness bedeviling the upcoming generation which usually leads to breeding of harden criminals that have been giving the society much headache.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi HOD, who celebrated with the state Governor over his recent triumph on Kano Governorship debacle at the Apex Court expressed delight over the rate of applicants that shown interest in joining the corps.

She maintained that the ministry under her leadership will remain watchful in looking for available vacancies meant for the state in both Public and private mediums with a view to sending qualified state indigenes to fill them ùùùIn order to minimize Idleness.

The Commissioner who explained that present administration is poised to curtail all forms of social vices ravaging the upcoming generation enjoined the youths to always look for available avenues so as to be self dependable as white collar jobs are no more sufficient nowadays

While Speaking,Director General of Directorate of Youths Empowerment Ahaji Salisu Abdullahi Kabo charged the applicants to uphold the prestige and dignity of the state hence avoid anything capable of denting its good image.

He added that as they would be subjected to rigorous training, they should try and endure as according to him everything will come to pass in a matter of time.

Speaking in a similar vein, the permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Special Duties Malam Sabiu Shu’aibu Muhammad, cautioned the applicants on the need to make sincerity of purpose their watchwords.

This according to him will by and large boost their image likewise make them shining examples among fellow recruits from other states at the Police College.

He used the medium to thank present administration for the logistics and financial support it has been according the ministry and its complementing bodies which he said is facilitating its routine assignments.
