Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State. Tuesday chaired an expanded meeting of the State Security Council at the Government House Council Chambers in Damaturu.
The meeting brought together heads of all security formations operating within the state.
Briefing journalists afterward, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd.), the Governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, outlined the key outcomes.

He stated the council reviewed the current security situation, discussing numerous emergent and prevalent security challenges.
“Security agencies provided detailed briefings. Based on this review, new strategies have been designed and will be implemented immediately to ensure sustained security, stability, and tranquility across Yobe State,” said Abdulsalam.
He explained that Governor Buni approved several critical decisions arising from the meeting such as expansion of Operation Haba Maza and approved of significant boost in logistical support for all security agencies operating in the state.

He noted that the previously police-led Operation Haba Maza will be transformed into a full joint task force.
“This expanded operation will involve all security agencies within the State.The aim is to achieve greater synergy and efficiency in our internal security operations.”
He further announced that the joint operation model would be replicated in Portiskum, Gaidam, Gashua, Nguru, and Buni-yadi.
Concluding the briefing, the Security Adviser noted the strong commitment from the agencies.
“The security agencies have pledged their unwavering loyalty to the Governor and committed to redoubling their efforts to ensure lasting peace and tranquility in Yobe State,” he added.
