Kano state High Court Number 2, presided over by Justice Yusuf Ubale has sentenced the duo of Samaila salisu and Aminu Salisu to death by hanging for killing one Ibrahim Alhassan.
The duo who are residents of Magangara Village in Kura LGA of Kano State, stormed the residence of one Ibrahim Alhassan with the intention to commit armed robbery and in the process shot him to death.
They were arraigned on 3 count charge, including: criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and inciting public disturbance contrary to sections 97, 221, (B) and 114 of Penal Code Law.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge slammed against them.
Prosecution counsel Barrister Bashir Saleh called nine (9) witnesses including three eye witnesses, and tendered nine (9) exhibits which include, den gun, cutlass and club.
The defendants thereafter testified as lonely witnesses and consquently closed their defense.
After legal analysis of the witnesses and documents tendered by both counsel, Justice Ubale upheld that prosecution counsel proved the burden on his shoulder affirming that the Prosecution proved its case beyond any reasonable doubt.
He sentenced the duo to death by hanging for culpable homicide and additionally sentenced them to 6 months imprisonment or to pay the sum of N20,000 as option of fine.
For inciting public disturbance, the court similarly sentenced Samaila and Aminu to one year imprisonment or to pay the sum of N20,000 fine.
