Kano State Fire Service has said that a 13-year old boy, Yusuf Magaji has fell inside river at Makugara village in Karaye LGA and died after he was rescued unconscious.
PFS Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi Public Relations Officer, Kano state Fire Service made this known in a statement issued on Friday.
He said office of the Service at Karaye recieved an emergency call yesterday, Thursday at about 13:31 hrs from Malam Nafi’u Na Adama who reported an inccident at Makugara Village in Karaye LGA.
The PRO explained that “When our men from Karaye fire station reached the area, at about 13:34 hrs. They found that, a boy of about 13 years old, by name Yusuf Magaji, a student of (Tsangaya) Qur’an school (Almajiri).”
He further said the Victim on their way to one village, stopped by the side of an open water with intention to wash their body but very unfortunately, he fell into the river, and he made efforts to escape from there and then our men from Karaye successfully retrieved the victim unconscious and conveyed him to Karaye specialist hospital for medical attention and later confirmed dead by doctor.”
He stated that the Victim’s corpse was handed over to Malam Nafi’u Na Adama school proprietor, (tsangaya).
