Gombe Police Arrest 11 Suspects over alleged Thuggery

Police in Gombe Command says it  has apprehended eleven Kalare suspects for being in possession of dangerous weapons.

ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar,  Public Relations Officer, Gombe State Police Command made this known in a statement.

He identified the suspects as: Abdullahi Saleh ‘m’ aged 18yrs, Yusuf Shitu ‘m’ aged 18yrs, Musa Saleh ‘m’ aged 20, Usman Suleiman ‘m’ aged 23yrs,

According to him others are: Alhassan ‘m’ aged 19yrs, Aliyu Yakubu ‘m’ aged 21yrs, Sadiq Adamu ‘m’ aged 21yrs, Dauda Ibrahim ‘m’ aged and Haruna Mohammed ‘m’ aged 18.

He also said that on the 30th May 2023 ,at about 1730hrs, the communities of Pantami, Malam-inna, Tudun-Wada and Checheniya quarters areas of Gombe metropolis reported at the office of Operation Hattara that some groups of boys suspected to be Kalare boys were alleged to have terrorized and carried out nefarious activities in their neighbourhood.

He pointed out that upon receipt of the complaint, Operation Hattara swung into action and stormed the criminal hideouts at different locations where they successfully arrested the suspects who allegedly confessed to have participated in the acts.

The PPRO, ASP Abubakar revealed that the case will soon be charged to court upon  conclusion of the investigation for possible prosecution.

He explained that the exhibits recovered include,
Seven (7) cutlasses and Three (3) knives.

ASP Mahid Mu’azu equally appealed to people of the State to continue to partner with police as well as enhancing their personal security and provide useful information on the activities of any suspicious, individuals or groups.
