I still vividly recall the day I was posted to Kano State as the Radio Nigeria Correspondent to work under the guidance of Mujittaba Ramalan Bello. From the very first day, he welcomed me not just as a colleague, but as a son. He trained me with patience, corrected me with firmness, and guided me with wisdom.

Mallam Mujittaba drilled me in the art of news reportage, insisting that I compile at least one news report every single day. At the time, I sometimes felt it was too hectic and wondered if he was simply pushing me too hard, not even allowing me to rest. Little did I know, he was preparing me for the bigger challenges ahead shaping my resilience, sharpening my skills, and instilling in me the discipline needed to thrive in the demanding world of journalism.
Even now, as I cover the President, I still reach out to him for guidance. During his tenure as General Manager of Pride FM in Gusau, I often called him, especially when I needed help translating from English to Hausa knowing his mastery of both languages was unmatched.
What stands out most about him is his simplicity, straightforwardness, and integrity. He never involved himself in anything questionable. His principles were clear, his ethics unshakable, and his commitment to the truth unwavering.
As you step into this new chapter of life, Boss, I want to say thank you for the lessons, the mentorship, and the fatherly care. I am proud to have worked under you, and I carry forward the values you instilled in me.
