Gombe State Police Command has apprehended woman accused of fatally striking husband’s head with a pestle.
ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar command’s Spokesperson made this known at a press briefing.
He said on 16th Nov, 2023, at about 08:21hrs, a distress call was received from a resident at Barunde Qtrs reporting a suspected homicide case committed in his neighborhood.

He also said Detectives from the Lowcost Division were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered Mohammed Maliki lying in a pool of blood.

He stated that the victim was immediately rushed to Specialist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
“Following a preliminary investigation, Biba Mohammed, the wife of the deceased, was taken into custody after confessing to the crime.
” In her statement, she admitted to using a pestle to strike his head.” The PPRO maintained.
ASP Mahid noted that the case is currently under investigation at State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID), adding that the suspect will be presented in court for prosecution upon the conclusion of the investigation.
