Hope I’m wrong! but it seems to me, the mighty APC Government commenced 2027 & 2031 Election Strategies at the earliest time in 2023 with Kano, Zamfara, Plateau & Others, will this be a new political strategy?

It has been the common nature of Politics and Politicians to maintain power and remain relevant. All governments aimed to remain in power by using all the mercenaries vested at its disposal.

Being in power is not all but the need to remain in power.

Therefore, by common tradition, a desperate government will not allow a strong political movement like Kwankwasiyya to politically survive, and in a key state like Kano, ahead of the 2027 elections.

For a government that lost elections in the voting box, experienced political defeat, the next option upon it, is to reclaim same in court.

It is in this vein that Alh. Atiku Abubakar OFR accused APC of confiscating Governorship seat in court in furtherance of the Plan of One Party system, though APC responded the allegation as untrue.

He called on all the opposition parties in the country to form a strong opposition team against the ruling party.

In Kano, the Executive Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf (AKY) of NNPP was a product of a peaceful revolution in the March 18, 2023 governorship election, but his victory has been crushed by the tribunal sitting in the state.

The court earlier declared Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the APC as the authentic winner of the poll. Justice Oluyemi Osadebay-the presiding Judge sacked Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf on September 20, 2023 when 165,663 of his votes were declared invalid because they were not signed, not dated or not stamped by INEC.

Aggrieved with the decision He approached the Court of Appeal where it was determined on the 17th November, 2023 in a unanimous decision the disqualification of Governor AKY for not being a member of NNPP and even queried the Tribunal for its failure to disqualify him earlier, since his name was not in the voters’ registers of NNPP.

Engr. AKY’s counterpart Mr. Caleb Mutfwang the Executive Governor of Plateau State who was the product of PDP was again sacked by the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

The court subsequently declared Nentawe Goshwe of APC as the winner of the election and ordered INEC to issue the APC candidate with a certificate of return.

This has repeated itself in Zamfara where the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday, November 17, 2023 ordered INEC to conducted rerun election in Three (3) Local Governments of Zamfara State and queried the Tribunal for declaring Mr. Dauda Lawan of PDP as Governor of the state against his opponent Mr. Matawalle of APC.

From the foregoing, the Three (3) Governorship seats were confiscated from the hands of NNPP and PDP in favor of the mighty APC. I’m not hoping but more states may be on the queue.

Those aggrieved Governors are now at the Supreme Court. My Eyes, Your Eyes, Eyes of the Voters, Nigerians and the world at large are curious watching at the supreme court believing justice will be done.

The Supreme Court is the court of Justice, a court that considers National Unity, Peace, Progression and preservation of democracy.

Majority of the populace had a firm view that they will only vote after seeing Justice at the Supreme Court.

The political conspiracy against Engr. Abba Yusuf, Mr. Dauda Lawal, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang and others will not help democracy which all Nigerians believe in its existence as one nation.

Researchers agreed that injustice is the cause of unrest anywhere in the world. Most of the Nigerians believed that uprooting opposition seats to the ruling party is nothing other than injustice.

The Voters who voted for AKY in Kano opined that even if INEC does not sign, date and stamp their respective votes, this is not their fault, theirs is only to vote and they voted.

In regards to the reason given by the Court that AKY is not a member of NNPP.

The Voters voted for AKY even if AKY’s name is not in the NNPP register, they believed he was sponsored by the NNPP and ordinary NNPP cannot sponsored a candidate who is not her member, so for the Court to punish the Voters on these issues it amounted to injustice and infringement of the Voters’ rights, as quoted by Mr. Femi Falana SAN.

After being released of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Judgment of the Court of Appeal delivered on the 17th Nov, 2023, the Judgment came as a shocker.

The CTC was released on the 21st Nov, 2023 but same has contained different pronouncement against the oral pronouncement of court made on the 17th Nov, 2023. The judgment is full of contradictions, as the CTC set aside the judgment of the Tribunal which was appealed against and went further and awarded the sum of N 1,000,000:00 cost against the APC but still the last pronouncement goes contrary to its predecessor which categorically said the AKY’s Appeal lacks merit and was accordingly dismissed.

The Eyes are now moved in the straight direction at the Supreme Court. A judgment contradicted itself. A judgment that resolved all the issues in favor of the Appellant AKY and even set aside the judgment of the lower court should ordinarily allow the appeal but in this case, the Appeal was dismissed. A judgment of the court should flow. On this point Mr. Falana SAN and others called the judgment as “Judicial Scandal”.

I have a strong hope the Supreme Court will not only do justice but Nigerians will have seen justice is done.
