Two Farmers were killed and Seven others rescued, when their canoe capsized due to rain and wind storm that occurred on August 27 between Galauchime to Sansani village in Miga LGA of Jigawa State.
DSP Shiisu Adam, Jigawa Command’s Spokesperson made this known in a statement, Tuesday.
“On 28th August, 2022 at about 1000hrs, information from reliable source revealed that, on 27th August,2022 at about 2100hrs, nine (9) farmers were returning from their farm between Galauchime to Sansani village in Miga LGA of Jigawa State.”
He said on reaching a river, they boarded a canoe paddled by one Ado Dan Maguga to sail to Sansani.
Unfortunately, he said, the canoe capsized, due to the rain and wind storm.
Seven (7) people were rescued while two (2) were not found
DSP Adam identified the two victims that were not found as Imran Rabiu ‘m’ 12yrs and Tasiu Rabiu ‘m’ age 14yrs.

He further said their corpses were later found and consquently released to their family for burial.
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida prayed for the departed souls to have eternal peace and sympathized with their family and relatives
