Kano State Fire Service says on Monday evening, a 4-year-old boy, named Abubakar Sani, also known as “MUSADDIQ,” lost his life to a devastating fire outbreak occurred at a dwelling house in Yakasai, Layin Inuwa Me mai, Kano State metropolis.
The fire, believed to have been caused by the boy playing with matches, engulfed a room on the upper floor.
Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, Kano Fire Service Public Relations Officer made this known in a statement .
He said immediate rescue efforts were carried out by the Service team, but the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at Murtala Muhammad Special Hospital.
According to him, Kano State Fire Service respondent promptly to the incident.
He added that Firefighters from the Central and Audi Bako Secretariat fire stations were deployed, arriving at the scene within minutes.
“They encountered a single-story dwelling house, with one room on the upper floor engulfed in flames.
“Despite their efforts and the rescue of a trapped 4-year-old boy, the fire claimed a life.
He noted theit further investigations revealed that the fire was ignited by matches being played with in the upper-floor room.
He emphasized that following a tragic fire incident, authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the outbreak.
