Tal’udu Bridge Project: Kano Govt, Communities Reach Agreement After 3 Months

Kano State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Muhd Umar, has called on residents of Tal’udu and Sani Mainagge communities to support the ongoing bridge construction efforts.

He emphasized the importance of achieving project completion within the stipulated timeframe without disruption.

Speaking to journalists after the stakeholders meeting, the commissioner urged individuals without official business at the site to refrain from entering, highlighting the presence of security agencies deployed to ensure a smooth construction process.

Additionally, he said the demolition of houses for the bridge clover project will proceed across three phases.

According to the Commissioner, the government seeks public cooperation in maintaining order during this critical infrastructure development.

said after three months of negotiations, communities have reached a resolution with the Kano State Government regarding the demolition and redevelopment of the bridge

He expressed satisfaction with the government’s final submissions, stating that the terms “do justice to us.”

He explained that one of the key points of the agreement is an increase in the monetary compensation for affected houses.

Additionally, he stated that “before any demolition occurs, homeowners will be permitted to remove valuable items, including windows, doors, ceiling burglars, and other essential materials, ensuring these belongings remain with the rightful owners.

The governor also pledged that any land not directly impacted by the construction project will remain under the ownership of its original residents.

Furthermore, according to him, affected families will receive alternative land as part of the governor’s broader commitment to the communities.

Expressing gratitude for the outcome, Imam and his colleagues extended their prayers for the governor and pledged their support for his vision to establish the bridge project.

He maintained that the resolution marks a turning point in ensuring fair treatment and compensation for residents affected by the redevelopment while advancing infrastructural projects in Kano State
